Feature: The WOMB Woodstock, ON
The Woodstock area had a huge need for prenatal, pregnancy, and postpartum care. The WOMB fills this need and serves so many in our community. It’s so much more than pregnancy care. The WOMB wraps its arms around its clients and supports them through feeling their absolute best.
When I first heard about The WOMB, I knew I had to feature them on my blog. The WOMB has three partners, Ashley Hamilton, Dr. Pamela Thornton, ND, and Tiffany Fewster-Salt.
Fortunately, my content writer, Claire Lauer, was able to sit down with two of the three WOMB partners, Ashley and Dr. Pam, who graciously agreed to let me interview them for my blog.
Meet The WOMB Woodstock, ON
Here is Claire’s interview with the lovely ladies of The WOMB! Some responses were edited for clarity. I hope you love getting to know The WOMB as much as Claire and I did.
What is The WOMB?
Ashley:
At its essence, The WOMB is a pre and postnatal wellness center, but it’s so much more than that! The WOMB is a multidisciplinary practice that offers holistic family care.
We care for the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of women’s health through whole health services, education, fitness, and supporting products. Our goal is to guide women back to their intuition so they can trust themSELF and fall back on our amazing team.
Dr. Pam has been Naturopathic Doctor for over 22 years with a very busy and in-demand practice. Previously when she had a patient that needed certain resources, she would have to refer them out of town with at least an hour's drive.
Many of Pam’s referrals were for pelvic health support, so she referred to The WOMB in Milton several times a year. It was obvious how important this kind of care was and how quickly her clients improved when they received it. When Tiff and I were pregnant, we also found ourselves driving out of town to The WOMB in Milton. In the postpartum period, sometimes it was once a week!
We realized how badly Woodstock needed access to these services and started our journey to open The WOMB.
Who Does The WOMB Serve?
Ashley and Pam:
We primarily serve pregnant, trying to conceive, and post-natal women. But then we have the other side of the spectrum of women raising teens, women later in life at perimenopause, and menopause.
We have a saying that The WOMB serves every-BODY.
So it’s not just women, but that’s usually where it starts.
We tend to start with moms who then bring their babies and then their partners, and it trickles down to other family members as well. It really turns into a whole family affair! And there are lots of men who come to The WOMB as well!
What Services Does The WOMB Provide?
Ashley and Pam:
There are so many reasons why clients come to us. One of the top reasons is for pelvic health support. Our pelvic health physio and rehab program is what calls a lot of women to this space. Another is our prenatal education and movement classes. Pelvic health and classes are both essential WOMB services.
But there is so much more!
The WOMB Offers:
Chiropractic care
Osteopathy
Naturopathic care
Lactation consulting
Massage therapy
Pelvic health physiotherapy
Counseling and coaching
Birth and post-natal doula
Fitness and yoga
Workshops and classes
Our educational classes and workshops provide a space for gaining knowledge and insight as well as a space for bonding, community, and connection.
It’s all a part of people’s wellness journey and a part of building a community.
What Makes The WOMB special?
Ashley and Pam:
The WOMB is special because it’s such a welcoming space for people to lean into to feel like they matter and that their needs will be met in a way that serves them. Because there are so many resources here, we can help direct people to what is most important to them in their current space and time and help create a community around them.
In one of the kindest reviews we ever received, the person wrote, “Every single person at The WOMB is genuinely rooting for you.” That couldn’t be more true.
All of us here at The WOMB are on this journey because we’ve been in the shoes of many of our clients at one point or another.
We genuinely want to see our clients gain access to these resources and get better. Especially during those early days with their baby when there’s so much uncertainty, we give them a little bit of guidance, and then they find it within themselves and build up this confidence, and then they know they can handle it when the next little bump comes along.
The beauty of The WOMB is that the practitioners have each other too and can work together to improve the clients' health. Each practitioner understands the others' practices and can seamlessly refer clients when they see a need outside their scope. This kind of care can elevate someone's healing journey. The community that women find here is also extraordinary. Being surrounded by so many like-minded women, who are in the same stage or have gotten to the other side of the stage you are in. We can all relate to one another. There is power in knowing that you, too, will get to the other side and you’re not alone.
What's The WOMB’s Vision for the future?
Ashley and Pam:
Part of our mission here is to be able to provide the best of the best to our clients. When someone walks through our doors, we want them to feel confident knowing they’re receiving the highest standard of care.
It’s important that our team continues to learn and grow. We always want to keep up with the most current training and research to stay ahead of the curve and provide the best care. We also would love to see a bigger, stronger collaboration with other healthcare professionals in the community here. We want to find more ways to work together and just continue to raise the bar for women's health care. We have seen really positive results when we all work together.

And then, we just want to continue to educate our clients and community and help them to see the value in some of the more underutilized services. For example, the doulas. People are just starting to understand the value there is in having a doula, and how much it can change the way you experience your birth and start your journey as a parent.
