Twin Newborn Photography | First Year Collective Feature

When I received Chantal’s inquiry, I was seriously swooning! This beautiful mama-to-be shared that she was expecting twins and was interested in newborn photos. I was only too excited to chat with her and get to know this amazing person.

After chatting and sharing more about what my full-service photography process, Chantal, and her husband, Kenny, expressed interest in my First Year Collective.

(In a nutshell, The First Year Collective is a collection of three or four photography sessions taken over the course of your baby’s first year. Your baby’s key milestones will be professionally documented with my full-service portrait experience.)

Why Did Chantal and Kenny Choose the First Year Collective

Funny enough, Chantal has Italian roots, just like me! Like our Italian ancestors, we both put  big value on family. In fact, I think it’s safe to speak for both of us and say that family is everything.

Chantal came to me wishing to capture it all with no reservations. This sweet family has been through some loss and knows how important it is to slow down and savour these moments. Chantal knows how much she’ll treasure this artwork for the years to come.

Chantal graciously agreed to answer a few questions about her experience with our studio and the First Year Collective.

When asked what drew her to work with Rachael, she answered, “What I liked about that first year collective is I wanted to tell a story about my family. It took my husband and me eight years to get pregnant, and I really wanted to document it as a story.”

Our goal with each full-service portrait session is to create art to tell your family’s story, so we were very happy to hear that was part of the reason she was inspired to work with us. During our initial consultation, we discussed their future feature wall. “With her timeless look, it’s something that I can put in like in any part of my house, it will age well. I thought it was a good investment,” said Chantal.

Chantal had never heard of a full-service portrait experience and was excited to know that all aspects of getting ready for the session would be taken care of each time. “I really liked that the session offered clothing for me and my family. That was excellent because I have a hard time dressing myself on a good day!” On the day of her session, Chantal didn’t have to worry about hair and makeup either because our talented hair and makeup artist went to her home to get her ready. She could just relax and enjoy the day!

The Woodstock Portrait Experience

Like so many of our clients, Chantal hadn’t taken professional photos since her wedding day. And, like so many of our mamas, she knew that she would be her toughest critic during the photoshoot.

Her first session of her First Year Collective was maternity. After a wonderful session day, Chantal just loved her portraits! We were all so excited. Chantal said it best, “I was just over the moon excited with about our maternity session. So, when we did our newborn session, I legitimately cried. I just, they were, they were just so beautiful that, like, even thinking about them just brings a tear to my eye because, I don't know, my boys are just so cute! And Rachael really captured that.”

This makes us so happy to hear because, her twin newborn boys were just so precious. We’re so glad Chantal chose a First Year Collective with us and that we are able to watch these amazing babies grow as well as grow their family feature wall.

Their Done-For-You Heirloom Portrait

I’m so thankful that Chantal and Kenny trusted me with creating their dream heirloom portrait artwork. After our session planning, they opted to create pregnancy announcements and create a dreamy family gallery wall.

I love that we get to grow this family portrait wall together! Delivering and installing their artwork is my favorite part because I know how much joy this artwork brings them without them having to lift a finger.

I know it’s cliche, but documenting twins is really twice the fun. I love that Chantal and Kenny trusted me to document their sweet babies. Getting to know their family and creating artwork out of these memories means the world to me! I look forward to growing their family heirloom artwork wall year after year.
