Top Locations for Fall Family Photos Near Woodstock, ON

Are you a fan of fall? Or are you holding onto the last few summer days? Whether you’re in either camp, you’re probably thinking about the same thing: fall family photos. I love fall family photos; it’s the perfect opportunity to document your growing family in this new season. And, of course, fall photos make beautiful Christmas cards.

If you’re researching fall family photos, you must first decide where you want to take your photos!

Where is the Best Place to Take Fall Family Photos?

First, I want to help you find the best place for your fall family photos. The key is to start with the end result in mind. How do you want to display these photos for the years to come? It may sound silly, but knowing this guides you towards choosing the best location. If you dream of hanging your family portrait in the dining room, you can choose a location with a backdrop that will compliment your home.

No matter what, start here!

Notice that I didn’t say share on social media. I love when I see clients share their photos on social media, please don't get me wrong. However, my dream for you is to display your family photos where you can love on them every day. Posting on social media is just a short-term way to share your photos. Printing them and lovingly displaying them in your home means you are able to enjoy them for the years to come.

We are lucky to have so many beautiful parks around Woodstock. These are just the top five locations for fall family photos.

Top 5 Locations for Fall Family Photos

Burgess Park - This beautiful park is just north and east of Woodstock and nestled along the Thames River. Here, there are some great spots along the Burgess Park Trail with backdrops such as the river, meadows, and trees.

Pittock Park - Pittock Park is just minutes away from the city, with easy access to different backdrops. There are tall pines, long grasses, and some views of the Thames River.

Roth Park - Roth Park is on the south side of the Thames River and steps away from Woodstock. Here, we have some great views of the water as well as some trees and meadows. There is a neat little nature trail that offers a few cute spots for family photos.

Pittock Dam - You can’t beat the convenient location of the Pittock Dam! While a dam might not sound enticing, trust me, this is a beautiful fall family photo location. Here we have gorgeous views of the water on one side and lush trees on the other.

The Studio - This might not be what you were expecting, but please hear me out. A fall family studio session might be exactly what you’re looking for this year. Why? With a studio session, your family is the focus of the photos! Plus, the studio offers a comfortable, private space so that every member of your family can relax and enjoy their portrait experience.
